Labor's shadow minster Peter Primrose is pledging a $25 million dollars for rural and regional areas in a project to revitalise the main streets of town.
"What we've found after talking to many chambers of commerce is that when the main street is prospering, the local community is prospering," he said. "So we are offering a grant to the local councils and saying here's some money, we want you to match if it it's a priority but they don't have to match it with money, they can match it with labour."
Labor candidate for Goulburn, Ursula Stephens, was happy to announce the latest funding for the Wingecarribbe Shire Council.
"Today we are announcing $500,000 thousand dollars for the redevelopment of Moss Vale's main street," she said.
"It's a big plan that the Wingecarribee Shire Council has and it will really transform the Moss Vale CBD."
Jo-Ann Davidson, Labor candidate for Wollondilly said that the money is well received and should be put to 'great use' but was "disappointed" that the council had not come back yet for funding for Bowral.
"I'm still waiting and hoping that they will make a decision before the election," she said.
