Preparing to vote for the first time, Hannah wanted to make an informed decision before taking to the polls by getting to know each candidate and what they stand for after struggling to find the information online.
"Young voters need an event in which they feel comfortable enough to ask questions about what maters to them, an event like D&M with an MP, Wollondilly," she said
"It's far too difficult to find relevant information in order to make an informed vote. Democracy doesn't work without voting and how can anyone be expected to vote without knowing what they are voting for?.
"Young voters have grown disinterested and apathetic towards politics. They feel as if they are being ignored in their own communities. It's time to get everyday people involved in their own political system."
Voters young and old will be able to have a chat with the candidates and ask them questions they want answers to.
Judith Hannan, Jason Bolwell (Shooters Fishers and Farmers), David Powell (Greens), Heather Edwards (Animal Justice Party), Mitchell Black (Liberal Democrat Party), Jo-Ann Davidson (Labor) and Charlie Fenton (One Nation) will all be in attendance to answer questions.
The meetup is informal with the aim to allow "open but respectful discussion" and for the constituents of Wollondilly to get first hand information so they may vote with confidence.
"Like it or not, young voters will shape the future of this country and D&M with an MP will help them form educated opinions to do so. The event gives them the opportunity to get involved where it really counts."
