Students across grade 3 and 4 were in for a musical treat when cellist, teacher and 'Bach in the Dark' founder Rachel Scott came to visit on March 8, 2019.
Rachel stopped by Bundanoon Public School to teach music to the kids before her performance at the Holy Trinity Church in Bundanoon.
The school hall became a concert hall as the students held on to every word Rachel had to say. Soon, tambourines, triangles, chairs and maracas were in a harmonic symphony together, with Rachel as their conductor.
A passionate music teacher and natural performer, Rachel enjoys giving her time to teach music to kids
"Because I am a teacher, I strongly believe that it's about giving back and re-educating everybody. I love working with primary school kids. Any chance to teach, I get excited by it," she said.
The workshop is part of the initiative to set up a string ensemble at the school, where profits from the 'Bach in the Dark' will go directly to helping the school's string ensemble and buying instruments.
Principal of Bundanoon Public School, Mel Morris was excited to have Rachel teaching the students the importance of music for the afternoon.
