About 100 people gathered to watch the second Vocal Muster competition since the program began in mid 2018. The three finalists - Abbey Johnson (first), Cassidy Brown (second) and Duncan Reay (third) have qualified for the grand final to be held in July.
A popular feature of the evening was the opportunity to include the entire audience in two songs - Edelweiss and You'll never walk alone.
The Wingecarribee Vocal Muster is an initiative of Moss Vale based, internationally renowned opera performer Richard Lane.
It is a not-for-profit organisation that assists young people to pursue their dreams to sing, and gives emerging vocal talent the opportunity to perform and to gain experience.
The MV Muster was established to give music students access to feedback from high-calibre performers, including Mr Lane, musician Glenn Amer and Sound of Music actor Nicholas Hammond.
It has already been responsible for influencing and shaping the talents of more than 100 young people aged 13 - 18.
Muster members hone their performance skills at regular events known as Rounds of Music.
Performances are held on a rotational basis on Friday nights at Moss Vale and Bowral Golf Clubs and Bundanoon Club.
Each performances are held from 6.30pm and feature about 25 songs.
A Highlight of the Dormie House show was the offer of funding from both the Federal and State Governments.
Whitlam MP Stephen Jones presented the program with $3800 under the Stronger Communities program while Goulburn MP Pru Goward announced a contribution of about $8000 from the NSW State Government.
Mr Lane said the funds would go towards the purchase of equipment for the Wingecarribee Vocal Muster including lighting and a Personal Address (PA) system.
