The man was pulled over on Old South Road, Bowral, for a roadside breath test at 1:20pm on February 21, at which point police allege he returned a result above the legal limit of 0.05.
Police said they took the man back to Southern Highlands Police Station, where he underwent another breath test which returned a reading of 0.291, six times over the legal limit.
The man's licence was suspended and he will appear at Moss Vale Local Court on March 19.
This comes after Operation Drink Drive One resulted in seven high-range drink driving charges, including two from the Highlands over the weekend.
