Australian Army Officer and member of the NSW Legislative Council the Hon Charlie Lynn OAM OL addressed the Rotary Club of Berrima District at Bowral Bowling Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Lynn spoke about the forthcoming 75th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific in 2020.
He also spoke about the role played by Australian forces in Papua New Guinea and their heroic efforts along the Kokoda Trail.
Mr Lynn said he had serious concerns that the heritage value of battles in Papua New Gineau and the trail itself is not being afforded the same recognition
Mr Lynn has made the trek on 94 occasions, and offered solutions to ensure that Papua New Gineau and Australian heritage and history will not be subsumed by non-military heritage factors.
