Candidates for Wollondilly have been tossing their hat in to the ring when it comes to promising funds for the hospital.
Labor party candidate, Jo-Ann Davidson was making the election rounds with Opposition leader and Shadow Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, Michael Daley on February 18.
This included a stop at Bowral and District Hospital where Daley pledged to keep the hospital out of private hands.
"We won't be spending money on $2.2 billion dollars worth on Sydney stadiums, we will be spending it on hospitals and schools across NSW," Daley said.
"I'm here to make a point with Jo in front of community members.
"They [Liberal government] are doing a $65 million dollar upgrade of the hospital, we will match that upgrade and make sure it's finished on time and on budget. We will never, ever privatise Bowral Hospital or any other hospital in NSW. Not now, not ever."
Daley also promised to fund understaffed positions in the hospital if elected.
Jo-Ann Davidson echoed the words.
"We will be investing in more funding for the hospital and that is my promise to the electorate," she said.
"I will be fighting every day for more funding for the hospital.
Meanwhile, Liberal candidate for Wollondilly Nathaniel Smith has also promised more for Bowral and District Hospital.
Mr Smith threw his weight behind an announcement from Liberal candidate for Camden, Peter Sidgreaves, who announced that based on current demand South Western Sydney Local Health District would get at least 822 new staff.
While Mr Mr Smith said he did not know what the numbers would look like for Bowral and District Hospital he could assure that the only hospital in the Wollondilly electorate would get more doctors, nurses and allied health.
He said the number would be determined by the local health district based on demand, demographics, age and the areas needs.
"The NSW Government is providing a significant upgrade, $65m to Bowral hospital that will include new or upgraded services so more people can access care closer to where they live," he said.
