On February 2018, the 2019 NSW Training Awards were launched at Gumnut Patisserie in Mittagong.
Yasmin Ayoub is nominated for Trainee of the Year 2019. Yasmin, a refugee, is completing a certificate 3 in bussiness administration and has also been accepted in to university to study International Relations.
Nathan Crashaw, a tool maker, is nominated for Apprentice of the Year 2019. This makes it the second year in a row that Nathan has been nominated for the award. He was a finalist in last year’s awards and was named Apprentice of the Year by 1300Apprentice.
Last year’s national runner up and Highland’s winner, Samantha Trotter was also there. Samantha, a Moss Vale local and Gumnut Patisserie apprentice, took out gold at the World Skills competition in 2018 and was named Apprentice of the Year 2018 for the Illawara and South East region.
