Operation Drink Drive One resulted in seven high-range drink driving charges, including two from the Highlands.
A 27-year-old Hill Top man was arrested for high-range drink driving while disqualified.
Police arrested the man in Hill Top after he returned a positive breath test.
He was taken to Southern Highlands police station for a further breath test, where he returned a high-range PCA (prescribed concentration of alcohol) of .153.
The man is scheduled in Moss Vale Local Court on March 15.
Meanwhile a Sydney man was arrested in Moss Vale after he returned a high range reading on Argyle Street in Moss Vale.
The man was taken to the police station, where he blew of a reading of .207.
The driver had his licence suspended and was issued with a court attendance notice.
Across the Hume Police District, police conducted 8000 breath tests.
In addition to high-range drink driving arrests, police issued 136 infringement notices across the district for various traffic offences including driving while disqualified and with suspended licences.
Hume Police District acting inspector Ian Pitkethly said the operation offered a timely reminder for motorists.
“We want people to be mindful that if they do drink, don’t drive,” acting inspector Pitkethly said.
“There will be seven people attending court in the near future for that reason.”
