The Thoroughbass ensemble will bring the works of Bach’s youngest son, Johann Christian, and his partner, Carl Friedrich Abel, to life.
The concert will feature a selection of symphonias, concertos, songs and chamber works sourced from the duo’s 20-year-long career in London. Christian produced lyrical music far removed from his father’s style whilst Abel contributed beautiful works of his own.The easy-to-listen-to music the duo performed was admired by Mozart. The concert will present a varied selection sure to delight.
The ensemble will consist of Shaun Ng on viola da gamba, Stephen Freeman and Shaun Warden on violin and Diana Weston with the harpsichord.
The Bach-Abel London Series concert will commence 4pm March 9, at The Rose Room, Burradoo.
Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 concession.
