The second placed Casula Lakers travelled to Colo Vale to consolidate their position on the League ladder and got more than they bargained for from a feisty Shelbys side.
Shelby returned after a disappointing run of forfeits.
Following three very tight innings, the Lakers batters unleashed and looked to have the better of the Stars.
It was the single massive hit from Aiden Martin to level things up as the game time expired.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Martin's hit in the 5th inning was a beauty.
It generated three runs and a near 'Grand Slam', Martin being tagged out by the Lakers catcher as he dashed for home.
The batting was strong down through the line-up with the usual contribution of a double base hit from Ramon Perez, and also by Steve Pettit, one of the Star's Friday night players on his Saturday debut.
There was no shortage of solid catching either, with the gloves of Perez, Dylan Allan, Andrew Glassington and a juggling David Weblin all taking outs.
Some fantastic fielding was also a feature, especially Pettit's great presence of mind at third Base with the tag out of an over-ambitious runner.
Scott McKelvey's relaxed throw down of a runner from Catcher to first base in the third innings.
Unfortunately the Stars' weekend featured yet another forfeit with the Southern Stars Bombers not playing their game on Friday night.
The Shelbys have one more game after this one at Catherine Field on February 23.
The Bombers play their last regular season game tomorrow night February 15 and then have a week off before finals start (if they make it).
