Joel Hunt, Barry Werfel, Richard Denman and Carl Spilker were up to the challenge and became surprise winners.
The format for the day was two games, ten ends.
In the first match, they came away with a seven shot win for a good victory to put them in a tie for second spot.
In the second match they were able to take the victory by one shot. Also being the only team to win two matches on the day with four points and a margin eight shots.
Skipper Carl Spilker was happy for his team to lift the shield as they were outsiders to do so.
Mrs Roz Benton and daughter Kendall Benton assisted in presenting the shield and very nice tankards to the winning team.
Ms Benton said "It's been a hard day but a very lovely one at the same time."
From the day $808 dollars was raised for the cure for brain cancer foundation.
Professor Stephen Della who was MC for the day was focusing on how Chris Benton has been sadly missed at the club.
He was a club man through and through and contributed to Bowral Bowling Club in so many ways.
