Southern Highlands Community Transport urgently require three car drivers for various roles, including taking elderly for shopping, doctor appointments and so on.
Southern Highlands Community Transport is funded under the Home and Community Care Program and the Community Transport Program, to transport: the frail and elderly people and those with a disability and their carers; people who are at risk of premature or inappropriate institutionalisation; people who are vulnerable or at risk; people from culturally distinct communities; isolated people (no public transport); financially disadvantaged people and the eligible transport beneficiaries such as veterans.
Each client is assessed on their ability to use other means of transport and the level of assistance they require to complete daily living tasks.
The volunteer must be physically able and will need to participate in relevant training.
This volunteer position would suit those persons on the Newstart program.
