Aussie songstress Bloom will channel one of her favourite artists as she takes to the stage with her new tour – The Linda Ronstadt songbook.
Not only does the tour celebrate the 40th anniversary of Linda’s tour of Australia, but it aims to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease, the very thing that forced Linda Ronstadt to retire from music.
Bloom is looking forward to shine a spotlight on the Shake It up Foundation, which has partnered with the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease.
“I am very honoured to be an ambassador for Shake It Up Australia,” she said
“I not only get to perform the songs of one of my all-time favourite artists, Linda Ronstadt, but at the same time raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease in a hope to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for Australian’s living with the condition.”
Parkinson’s Disease affects 80,000 Australians each year, with 32 people diagnosed daily. It is also the second highest neurological disease behind dementia.
Bloom will perform all of Linda Ronstadt’s best hits at Mittagong RSL Club, Corner of Hume Highway and Bessemer Street, Mittagong, on February 8 at 7:30pm.
