Specsavers Official Eyewear and Eye Care partner to Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricket team, is asking Mittagong locals to nominate their Community Cricket Champion in celebration of the great work of local cricket clubs across Australia.
Mittagong cricket fans are asked to nominate their Community Cricket Champion and explain why their local cricket club member or volunteer deserves to be recognised for their hard work.
Specsavers will reward one deserving Community Cricket Champion and their team with an invaluable training experience with cricketing great, Ian Healy and members of the Australian cricket team who will visit their local club to test their skills and hand-eye coordination.
To be eligible, nominate your Community Cricket Champion before January 27, 2019 for a chance to take part in the skills session and to ensure the team keeps their eye on the ball.
The chosen club will also receive complimentary eye tests at their local Specsavers store and glasses for those who require them. Specsavers cricket ambassador, Ian Healy said he is excited to see the incredible people behind Aussie cricket being recognised through the search for a local Community Cricket Champion.
“Each and every player on the Australian cricket team started out playing community cricket and it’s at the thousands of local cricket clubs around Australia where that love of the game began,” Healy said.
“We’ll keep our eyes peeled for the best in community cricket and I’m looking forward to acknowledging our well deserving local Community Cricket Champions.
“It’s great to be working with Specsavers and Cricket Australia to celebrate the best in community cricket and to give volunteers the credit and recognition they deserve, after all, it’s what makes the game all it is today.”
Specsavers Mittagong Dispensing Partner, Craig Evans is encouraging local cricket fans in Mittagong to put forward a deserving cricket champion for the experience.
“We’re excited to offer cricket fans the opportunity, it would be fantastic if a club in our community was chosen so members can gain invaluable skills and knowledge in a sport they love, whilst making sure their eyesight is at its best,” Evans said. “Being trained by a professional player, who knows the game inside and out is a unique opportunity that the chosen team will be sure to benefit from.”
