The retreat is the first event to be held by Springfield & Co, a newly-formed collective of women, “actively engaged with the arts and inspired to collaborate for the benefit of a thriving local creative community.”
The retreat will be hosted at Springfield Farm in Bundanoon and gives participants the opportunity to work with renowned international and Australian writers and teachers in a small group workshop.
In addition to US-based Fowler, who wrote NY Times bestsellers The Jane Austen Book Club and We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, workshops will be facilitated by renowned writers Dr Nike Sulway and Dr Catherine McKinnon.

The workshop is open to writers of all levels - those who are already writing a story, are ready to begin writing, and those who have hit some blocks along the way, but is limited to 12 participants to ensure individual attention and create an intimate, supportive writing community.
Participants will be treated to beautiful Springfield Farm’s signature experience of luxurious farm-based hospitality, while meals at the retreat have been developed by nutritionists and passionate foodies, fresh from the farm gardens or sourced from local providers.
Springfield & Co is offering one free place at the retreat as well as a writer’s residency of up to one month as part of the Rosina Joy Buckman Award.
The Rosina Joy Buckman Literary Award is presented annually for writing that expands and explores our understanding of nature. It is open to women authors 40 years +, Australian and overseas, in all genres for novels and short fiction.
