David was an integral member of the Southern Highlands community and was actively involved with many sporting clubs and community organisations.
He was the inaugural chairman of Mittagong Recreation Centre, a life member and president of the Bowral Show Society, Bong Bong Picnic Race Club and a past committee member of Berrima District Pony Club.
