According to Endeavour Energy, 1019 customers are affected by the blackout.

The power went out at about 4.30pm, and crews have been working to restore power to residents.

There are several streets where more than 50 homes are affected, including Church Road, Dengate Crescent, Elizabeth Street, Farnborough Drive, Illawarra Highway, Kirkham Street, Nowra Road and Watkins Drive.

There is currently no estimated restoration time.
