The school had the opening of the Aboriginal Education Mural Project, and unveiled a special mural by artist Peter Swain.
The mural took two and a half weeks to paint.
In addition to this, there was a smoking ceremony, artist talks and a barbecue.
Mr Swain said the day was about teaching the students about Indigenous culture.
“We’re teaching them about the story of the mural,” he said.
“The story is how we’re all connected and how it brings us together to right here, right now.
“The story is about today. Every day it’s a new day and the story stays relevant to today.”
Mr Swain said it was important for Australians to be aware of their culture.
“The Aboriginal culture is the culture of Australia. If you were born in Australia it’s your culture too,” he said.
“You can’t become Aboriginal but you can find out the story of where you’re from.
“Your history is how you became you, it’s all about you and what makes you who you are.”
