Northbound motorists were diverted at Welby onto the Old Hume Highway and re-joined the Hume Motorway at Aylmerton.

The truck fire caused significant delays for motorists, with queues of about five kilometres.

Emergency services and traffic crews worked at the site to extinguish the fire.

One ambulance crew attended the scene however no one was transported to hospital or treated for injuries.
