Jai Rowell and Nathaniel Smith, Liberal candidate for Wollondilly made the presentation.
“We’re proud to announce that the NSW Government will be providing a grant of $41,000 to go towards a mezzanine floor to increase training abilities,” Mr Rowell said.
Last year the Wingecarribee SES unit had 80 members and today they have expanded to 120 members.
SES controller of the Wingecarribee unit, Warren Turner said “I’m very thankful to Jai and the NSW Government for their grant initiative.”
“We’re going to improve our capabilities for the Wingecarribee SES,” Mr Turner said.
“At the moment we only have one training room and over 120 members, so it can be quite busy at times, so this will benefit the members of the unit.”
Mr Rowell remembered this donation was long sought after and it needed to be delivered.
“I remember just over a year ago they said they needed this donation for extra training,” Mr Rowell said.
“It is the busiest unit across the state and it was so easy to support the application,
“They help us and we need to help them.”
