A piece to a newly-purchased airconditioner has allegedly been stolen from a shopping centre carpark. A resident, who asked not be named, said he purchased the $699 split system Sterling unit on December 1, from Mittagong Aldi. He said he left it unattended in a trolley in the carpark for a short period and when he returned part of the unit, the compressor, was missing.

He said he was told there was no CCTV to identify the potential thief and, as such, police could not take the matter further. The man said the airconditioning unit could not be used without the missing piece. He urged the person who took the piece to hand it in at the Bowral Salvation Army store. Just ask for the store manager, Col, and no further questions will be asked.
