Wollondilly-Southern Highlands Physical Culture Club teacher Molly Stein finished with a top five finish at the BJP Senior Nationals.
The club had three representatives at the competition, which was held at the Opera House on December 3.
Each age division had 15 finalists competing and Molly placed fifth in the 23-24 senior division.
Club members Lucy Stein (novice senior) and Laura Jamieson (first year senior) did not place but club president Diane Gardiner said they “still looked fantastic” out on the floor.
Gardiner said it was becoming something of an international competition, with competitors from Bali taking part in the 2018 event.
A new challenge for competitors at Nationals, there was live music.
In the lead up competitions, Gardiner said the music was all digital and with live music, competitors had to “hear the music differently”.
“You’ve got to drill to the music, not what you know. The tempo is a bit different and marching and different.”
The three club members had a rehearsal on the Sunday night before the competition, where they practised their endings.
