His son Richard enhanced it and it has been donated to Bowral Primary School.
It was made there by the travelling school photographer in 1937 and shows the 17 boys and 20 girls of Miss Kettle’s first class.
The school principal was Mr Medlicot (or headmaster in those days) and he was a very well-known identity.
The economic depression was still evident and not many pupils wore school uniform. In fact some boys came to school (only occasionally in Bowral) without shoes.
We know of two pupils who are still living around Bowral. Barry Ling (top row, fifth from the left) and Sylvia Bunchell (now Sylvia Holborow) in the front row, second from the left.
Barry and Sylvia are wondering how many of the others are still alive.
They would all be about 86 by now.
If anyone could assist them by supplying any of the missing names, or have a relative in this photo and would like a copy, please contact Barry Ling on 4861 1095.
