Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Carl Spilker and Dugald Braithwaite defeated Ashley Lewis, Russell Fahey, Russell Knight and Mick Spong 25-15.
Skipper Dugald Braithwaite said he was helped by a great display by his teammates and always felt in control of the match.
Team Braithwaite had to decide tactics from the first end and the team straightaway caught the opposition off guard by going to a 10-1 lead after six ends.
They then began to outplay team Spong and had a match winning lead of 16-5 after 11 ends.
Then a remarkable turnaround in team Spong’s play had them back into the match to trail 17-15 with two ends to play.
This transformation in the match was unexpected.
Team Braithwaite was up to the task and picked up six shots on the last two ends to retain the title by eight shots.
Team Staples wins club plate final
Glen Giese, Don Chapman, Bill Meredith and Robin Staples defeated Keith Edwards, Bob Edwards, Dan Ticehurst and Paul Leverett 18-13 to win the club plate final.
Team Staples needed to get away to a good start and they did leading, 12-3 after nine ends.
Excellent team work by team staples had them ahead 17-11 with three ends to play.
And they went on getting the job done to win the final by five shots.
Staples oh so close
In the semi- finals of the senior singles on November 21 Russell Knight defeated Robin Staples 31-30.
Knight gave Staples a jolt early in the match and had a 9-4 lead after seven ends.
The game then intensified with Staples hitting back to trail 10-9 after 11 ends.
Good play by Knight again had him in front 23-15 after 24 ends
Staples then started coming back into the game and got on level terms 23-23 after 30 ends.
Then Staples hit the front 28-25.
It was then up to the last few ends to see who would make the final.

Prominent play by Knight had him in front 30-28 but Staples was not going away and drew level 30-30.
On the last end Staples held two shots and game. Knight who had consistently drawn well during the game had a big call to make either try to kill the end or go for the draw.
Knight decided to go for the draw and got a slight rub of another bowl to get second shot and move into the final by one shot.
Noel Fraser defeated Owen Williams 31-15 in the other semi-final to move into the final .
Fraser had plenty to cheer about early when he took a match winning lead 19-5 after 10 ends and was still on the road to victory leading 28-13 after 20 ends.
He then went on to win the match by 16 shots.
The final will be between Fraser and Knight .
The final should be a close result
Fraser is the reigning champion and hoping to retain his crown. Knight is a unpredictable player and when on his game is hard to toss.
