The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Parkinson's Support Group will be on November 20 in the Springs Room at the Mittagong RSL at 10.00am for 10.30am. Members Len and Margaret Parker will talk about the Parkinson's Support Group seminar they attended. The guest speaker will be the Chief Librarian, Andrew White, who will talk on the changing roles for libraries in the digital age and services the library offers, such as the mobile library, large print and audio books. The Southern Highlands Evening Branch of the CWA will hold a garage sale on December 1 from 8am to midday. This will be held at the CWA rooms in Winifred West Park, Old Hume Highway, Mittagong. The sale is a great opportunity to find a special gift for Christmas with bric-a-brac, toys, homewares and more available. Refreshements will also be available.

Every Friday morning between 10am and midday the foyer of the Mittagong Anglican Church is open to the public for free morning. The church’s professional barista knows how to make one of the best coffees in town. A professional counsellor offering free support to those who might want to talk privately is also available. Come and join the group and make new friends in a relaxed and warm environment. St. Stephens Church is on the corner of Station and Main Streets and has been reaching out to the community for more than 140 years.
Test you strength and agility with Tai Chi classes held at the Mittagong Senior’s Club located next to the Mittagong Library. Classes are held each Tuesday from 1pm.
Mittagong Seniors’ Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2.30pm at the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong. Come for morning tea at 10am to learn more. Activities include craft, games, ukulele and various outings.
Casual, flexible and free seminars on learning to read the Bible effectively are available at the Loseby Park community hall each Sunday from 9.15am to 10.15am. The Highlands Christadelphians currently offer a continuous series of seminars designed to help people learn how to understand the Bible for themselves. No attempt is made to teach doctrines. This is more like a "How To" guide with hints on how to allow the Bible to interpret itself. The small group currently attending includes people from 18 to about 50 years of age. It is informal, and participants are invited to contribute their questions, or simply listen to the others. All are welcome. No bookings are necessary. Come and go as you wish. Southern Highlands Bushwalkers Inc will hold a Christmas get-together on November 25. This is scheduled to be held at Wirrimbirra Sanctuary but could change (guests will be informed of any changes closer to the date). The Christmas party will begin at 10.30am. Meat, tea, coffee and punch will be provided, however, those attending are ask to bring along a plate, cup and cutlery. The Southern Highlands Justice of the Peace Branch of the NSW Justice Association will be close its community desks across the region during the Christmas New Year break. The final day for desk operations in 2018 are: Springetts Arcade Bowral – Wednesday, December 12; Moss Vale SUPA IGA – Thursday December 13; Mittagong Market Place – Friday and Saturday December 14 and 15. Due to public request and support from venue management all JP desks will re-open earlier in 2019. Re-opening times are: Mittagong Market Place – Friday and Saturday January 4 and 4; Springetts Arcade Bowral - Wednesday January 9 and Supa IGA Moss Vale - Thursday January 10.
