Formed in 1934, The Australian Air League is active throughout NSW, the ACT, VIC, QLD and SA and is still expanding.
Girls and boys from the ages of 8-18 are eligible to join an Air League squadron as a cadet and participate in weekly meetings and regular activities.
Adults with a passion for aviation can join the Air League as trainee officers.
Parents and supporters can also join as associate members if time does not permit for regular attendance.
Members of the AAL attend squadron parade nights once a week.
These run approximately two hours and cover a variety of interesting activities that include, model aircraft building, physical training, first aid teaching and theory classes.
In addition to these weekly activities, several parades and reviews are conducted during the course of the year.
Social function such as picnics, hikes and fund-raising activities happen throughout the year. Members are also encouraged to help community projects and assist in ANZAC day.
With no political, racial or religious connections, the Australian Air League aims at promoting and encouraging the development of aviation in the youth of Australia.
