Head teacher of science Tim Flaus, head teacher of teaching and learning Andrew Facer and science teacher Zenobia Katrak received awards at the recent World Teachers’ Recognition Awards.

The evening was hosted by the Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales at Concord Golf Club.

All three educators were all acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the area of science and STEM education.

Awards were presented by the NSW Minister for Education Dr Rob Stokes MP and the shadow Minister for Education Jihad Dib MP.

Bowral High School Jason Conroy said he was “delighted for the staff that had been bestowed such prominent awards”.

“I was very fortunate to be in attendance on the night when my staff were given such prestigious accolades,” Mr Conroy said.

“As teachers we don’t do our job for this type of recognition, although it is definitely nice to know that their efforts and hard work in support of Bowral High School students has been adjudged to be of a high calibre”.

The Teachers Guild of NSW was established in 1892 and each year the annual presentation of World Teachers’ Recognition Certificates acknowledges the significant contributions made by educators across all our systems of education.

The Guild seeks to promote its core values and to assist the teaching profession by a range of activities including encourage maintenance of professional standards in education.
