An overall total of $22,407.40 was reimbursed to councillors from 2017-18.
The figures represent the expenses that were approved during this period, subject to the councillor expenses policy.
The councillor with the lowest expenses was Councillor Ken Halstead, who had a total of $19.45 which was for sundries.
Clr Gordon Markwart had the highest approved expense total at $4856.41 for 2017-18.
Clr Markwart’s largest expense was on travel at $2071.28.
A council spokesperson said councillors living furthest away from the Civic Centre may have the greatest travel expense claim.
Councillor Grahame Andrews had an expense total of $3450.44 from 2017-18 and his greatest expense for the year was $1792.37 on accommodation.
Mayor Duncan Gair had an expenses total of $2920.63 from 2017-18.
Mayor Gair’s greatest expenses were sustenance/entertainment at $927.74, followed closely by $925.08 on travel expenses.
Entertainment can be classified as incidental expenses.
Clr Graham McLaughlin’s expenses total was $2611.44, and his top expense was $1002.91 on telecommunication.
Clr Ian Scandrett had a total of $2637.30 for 2017-18, and his biggest expense was travel at $1361.18.
Clr Garry Turland had a total of $1797.97, and the biggest portion of this was $833.01 spent on sustenance/entertainment.
Clr Larry Whipper’s expenses total was $2204.16 in total, with his largest expense was $1193.40 in travel.
Detailed reports on the provision of expenses and facilities to councillors will be publicly tabled at a council meeting every six months.
