For Highlands households and businesses looking to slash their power bills, the announcement was a huge win, as the current rebate contributes $3200 towards the cost of a typical (5kW) solar power system.
This will make solar much more affordable for the average Southern Highlands household.
The SRES is now guaranteed for the next 12 years. However, each year on January 1, the rebate shrinks and In 2030, the scheme will end.
