Following the announcement the Federal government has ruled out changing the solar rebate; better known as the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), The Energy Experts are hosting two free Solar and Battery Storage Sessions in Sutton Forest this month.
For Highlands households and businesses looking to slash their power bills, the announcement was a huge win, as the current rebate contributes $3200 towards the cost of a typical (5kW) solar power system.
This will make solar much more affordable for the average Southern Highlands household.
The SRES is now guaranteed for the next 12 years. However, each year on January 1, the rebate shrinks and In 2030, the scheme will end.
“Now that the rebate is guaranteed, the opportunity is there for every home and business with a suitable roof to take charge of their energy needs and reduce their reliance on the grid,” director of The Energy Experts Carolyn Lee.
“Producing and storing solar power are two things households and businesses can do to save money on power bills and take control of rising electricity prices.”
The solar and battery storage sessions will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at Sutton Forest Hall from 10.30am until 12pm and on Saturday, November 24 at Sutton Forest Hall from 1pm until 2.30pm.
