Hotel changes hands
The Robertson Inn has a new name, new owners and a new direction.
Now known as the Robertson Public House, the pub officially changed hands on Tuesday.
The hotel was sold to an Illawarra-based syndicate with a mix of hospitality, and broader business experience.
The new team is working hard to put its own stamp on the hotel.
Earlier in the week new signage was put on display and a vintage truck was unveiled to match the vintage pub.
The owners are also currently in the process of hiring four to five kitchen staff as well as 10 to 15 bar staff.
Co-owner Steven Savic said the hotel would have a strong focus on local produce.
“We’re looking at establishing a venue with a paddock to plate focus,” Mr Savic said.
“Something that’s important is the [local producers] can provide a story.
“I think Robertson has the opportunity to become the food hub of the Southern Highlands.”
An on-site distillery is currently in the planning stages.

Car wash and cafe opening soon
A car wash and cafe will open in Mittagong in early 2019.
The businesses will open in early January, one month before Oporto Mittagong opens its doors.
Both premises will be located 51 to 59 Main Street and 8 Edward Lane, Mittagong, next to the BP service station.
The car wash and cafe will create 10 to 12 jobs for the region. Recruitment for these roles will begin in early December 2018.
The car wash will offer hand wash facilities as well as a full detailing service.
The cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch.
