Friends of the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter (FOWAS) have been working in conjunction with Bowral House resident Margrett Salter, who has knitted 72 poppies purple poppies.
Margrett donated the poppies to FOWAS to sell at Bowral Public School Markets on November 10.
The purple poppy recognises the animals whose lives were lost in the war.
The purple poppy is also to remember the animals still serving in the defence forces today.
All funds raised will go towards supporting the animals at the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter.
