The under-16s had a good win over the South Coast at Lackey Park.
Winning the toss, the Highlands elected to bat and finished their innings at 7-199.
Hamish Pinn (21) and Connor Taylor Helme (42) settled into a steady start and didn’t lose a wicket until the 27th over.
Jack Baldwin (58) performed well with the bat and Oscar Murton (23) also contributed to set up a good run chase.
The Highlands opening bowlers Riley Hurford (1-13 off 10 overs) and William Preddy(1-17 off 7) got the team’s defence off to a great start.
They were backed up by Liam Baylis(1-15 off 9), Taylor Helme(2-21 off 8) and Baldwin(3-22 off 7) to secure a the win when the South Coast finished at 9-123 from their overs.
Also up against the South Coast, the under-12 team had a six wicket loss.

After 19.3 overs, the Highlands team was dismissed for 35 runs, with Sam Harwood top scoring with 12 runs.
South Coast was then 4-37 off 8.1 overs. Jesse Hol and William Gilbert both picked up two wickets each.
The under-14 Highlands team fell 59 runs short of the South Coast in their second round match.
South Coast won the toss and batted, finishing at 9-153 off 40 overs.
Hal Canute and Darcy McNamara each claimed two wickets, with Oliver O’Riordan, Hayden Willebrand and Will Thomson all finishing with one each.
In response the Highlands was dismissed for 94 off 30.2 overs.
Finn Kaufline (19) and Canute (18) were the top run scorers.
