Relay for Life will be held at Moss Vale Showground on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21.

Event organisers hoping to raise $140,000 at the bi-annual event.

There are currently 450 people registered, however organisers around 800 people to attend.

People can sign up online at anytime and they can also register at the registration tent on the day. Registrations do not close.

The event will raise money for the Cancer Council’s lifesaving research, prevention, advocacy and support programs for Highlanders affected by cancer. 

This includes the Southern Highlands Transport to Treatment service, which is made up of the Southern Highlands Bus and General and Practical Support Service.

There is also the GAPS program, where volunteers drive passengers to appointments in and out of the Highlands. 

Kelly Dinnerville said there was plenty of entertainment on offer.

“Highlights include our excellent live entertainment line-up including Michelle Cashman from The Voice,” she said.

“Another highlight would be the candlelight ceremony, which is the most moving part of the event.

“It is held at dusk and is a chance to remember those that we have lost to cancer.”

Saturday:

11.30am: Opening ceremony

1pm: Motivation station – health activities

1.15pm: Live entertainment – William Wallace

2pm: Survivors and carers walk followed by an afternoon tea

2pm: Miss Relay registration

2.15pm: Live entertainment – Recovered

3.15pm: Live entertainment – Nick Johnson

4.15pm: SES children’s activities

5.15pm: Live entertainment – Velvet Grove

7.40pm: Candlelight ceremony of hope

8.45pm: Live entertainment – Eklypse

9.45pm: Miss Relay pageant

Sunday:
