This will take the form of a series of Parkinson’s education program to be held across across NSW.
An estimated 80,000 Australians are affected by the Parkinson’s Disease, suffering such conditions as restricted movement, muscle rigidity, instability and tremors.
There is currently no known cause in the development of Parkinson’s and no cure but there are effective treatments and therapy that can lead to an easier life for sufferers.
The education seminars are suitable for people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers, medical professionals, care workers and anyone wanting more information about the disease.
The Southern Highlands seminar guest speakers are:
- Dr Mariese Hely - Neurologist
- Matthew Ott - Physiotherapist
- Pamela Parker - Speech Pathologist
- Nina Cheyne - Parkinson's NSW Nurse
- Alyson Banks - Parkinson's NSW Exercise Physiologist
The Highlands program will be held on October 24 at Mittagong RSL Club from 9.30am-2.30pm.
