The Four Seasons Community Garden is hosting its inaugural Spring Festival on Sunday, October 21 featuring food, fun and festivities for families and aspiring green thumbs.
Project manager Sharon Miller said the festival was an opportunity to reach out to the community “to let them know we’re here.”

“We started this garden project about five years ago but we’ve been relatively under the radar,” Ms Miller said.
“We’ll have lots of fun things like a jumping castle, face painting, food stalls, gardening showbags for the kids and talks throughout the day from some of our gardening experts,” she said.
There will be four gardening talks held throughout the day, discussing everything from organic pest control and soil improvement to edible flowers.
“These talks are a way to provide an opportunity for people to learn from other keen gardeners, including our own chief gardener,” Ms Miller said.
The Four Seasons Community Garden was started in 2013 in collaboration with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) with a mission to “support the broader community with information about good health, growing nutritious food and providing garden produce for people in need, thus supporting existing welfare activities in the Southern Highlands.”
The festival is a one-day event on site at the community garden: 182 Bowral Street, Bowral (entrance from McDonald Street).
