The Highlanders had a 24-12 victory over Campbelltown City Kangaroos on Sunday but it was not an easy win.
Bundanoon was down 12-0 at the break before coming our in the second half to score 24 unanswered points through Justin Sloggett, Adam Palk, Anthony Phelps and Cheyne Denning.
Highlanders coach Chris Conquest said after a slow start, he was glad to get the win.
“We found it tough to hand onto the ball in our own half and had to defend our own goal line a lot in the second half,” he said.
Currently second on the ladder, two points ahead of City and Narellan in third and fourth respectively, the Highlanders will take on Thirlmere at Community Oval on Sunday morning.
“Our goal was to finish top two and it looks like we’re going to achieve that,” Conquest said.
