Four Blacks players were selected to represent Illawarra at the recent under-10 NSW junior rugby union state championships.
Tim Leahy, Henry McMahon, Fred Jones and Nick Biddle all got the chance to showcase their skills on the representative stage.
Held at Pittwater Rugby Park, the boys faced some tough competition.
And it was not just the players who were involved in the tournaments.
Blacks committee members Michael Leahy and Sam Jones were managers for two of the Illawarriors representative teams.
While Bowral under-10s coach Brendan Fannin was one of the coaches.
Henry and Tim played for Illawarra Red while Fred, Nick and Charlie played for Illawarra Blue.
In their first game, Illawarra Red went down 36-0 to Warringah White.
The team then enjoyed a close 12-10 victory over Randwick Green and followed this up with a 29-7 win against Hunter Blue.
Illawarra Blue started the tournament well with a 26-0 win over Eastwood White before going down to West Harbour 12-7 in their second game.
They bounced back in the third match to beat Parramatta Royal 17-10.
In their final matches, Illawarra Blue lost to Southern District Lions 12-7 and Red beat Hunter Blue 29-7.
