This is why Endeavour Energy reaching out to primary schools to register for Electricity Safety Week before August 31.
Endeavour Energy’s general manager safety, human resources and environment Andrew Pitman said Endeavour Energy was committed to public safety and educating students about how to be safe around electricity.
“Held between September 10 to 14, Electricity Safety Week helps create a safer community by raising awareness among primary school students and providing them strategies to stay safe,” he said
If they had not already done so, Mr Pitman encouraged all primary schools to register before August 31 to receive a free Electricity Safety Week 2018 prize pack.
“Registration is as easy as emailing electrickids@primary-pr.com or calling (02) 9212 3888.
“As well as teaching resources, the pack contains electricity safety posters, stickers, activity booklets, quizzes and prizes for participating students.”
Mr Pitman said 2018 marked Endeavour Energy’s 10th year of involvement with Electricity Safety Week.
“The effectiveness of Electricity Safety Week is dependent on the great support shown by teachers, with 94 per cent of all primary schools in our network participating last year,” he said.
“To support these hard working teachers, educational materials consisting of fun electricity-related educational activities have been developed with the NSW Department of Education.
“These materials help teachers deliver electrical safety learning and awareness while also meeting the Science and Technology and PDHPE syllabus outcomes for years K-6.
“Through this collaboration with schools and teachers, Electricity Safety Week helps communities served by our network to live, learn and work safely around electricity.”
