The Highlander co-captained the NSW All Stars rugby league team for players with disabilities in July against a combined Indigenous team at Redfern oval.
This was an annual competition which NSW has never lost. And this again proved to be the case in 2018.
Riches has played in every game since the competition first started.
In this year’s match, he led the way, scoring a try for NSW.
At the final whistle, the score was 30-8 in favour of the NSW side.
Riches plays for the Wests Tigers in the NSW League and will be playing for Australia again later in the year, against New Zealand and England in Sydney.
