It is a global concern which affects communities far and wide, including the Southern Highlands.
Those interested to learn more on the topic are invited to join members of Climate Action Now Wingecarribee (CANWin) at a special event on August 17.
The event will take the form of a lunch and presentation focussed on climate change and its impact of the community.
It will feature an update from Professor Janette Lindesay, who last visited the Highlands in 2011 to discuss the ANU Climate Change Institute.
Prof Lindesay will provide an update on the work at the institute which has more recently made contact with several community groups that are leading the way to transition and adaptation regarding climate change.
For example, the community of Crookwell has had a windfarm for some time and are members of the new Farmers for Climate Action.
The August 17 presentation will offer information and the opportunity to discuss other actions and how individuals can help change a community’s effect on climate change.
Come along to the Moss Vale Community Centre at 11am to share your own ideas and changes with others and enjoy lunch for just $5.
