The celebration of the sesquicentenary of the opening of the railway line from Sutton Forest to Marulan will occur on August 5 between 8.30am and 2pm.
The Bundanoon History Group and the Marulan and District Historical Society have planned a day of celebrations to mark the occasion.
This will include an official launch of the Bundanoon station restoration by Sydney Trains at 10.30am and an open day to provide the first glimpse inside Bundanoon’s historic station since 2006 which will happen at 2.30pm.
There will be community ceremonies in Bundanoon at 10.30am and Marulan at 12.50pm to celebrate 150 years of rail including the Lieutenant General among other dignitaries.
Event trains provided by NSW trains linking Bundanoon, Marulan and the southern villages will run on the day.
There will also be festivities, displays, food, entertainment and activities around Bundanoon and Marulan stations from 10am to 2.30pm and markets at Bundanoon from 8.30am.
