Bundanoon came out on top with a 22-16 win against its opposition in round 13 of the second division cup competition.
Bundanoon Highlanders captain Chris Conquest said while he was unhappy with the team’s performance, he was happy the team got the win.
“It was pretty rough, we didn’t play very well but we got the job done. It’s onto next week,” he said.
Conquest said Anthony Phelps, Cheyne Denning and Justin Sloggett contributed to the win with strong performances.
He said he hoped to see these performances improve in the next round of the competition.
“Our defence was good. They didn’t make many metres in a set, they made 20 metres or at best 30 metres each set so that was good,” Conquest said. “I thought we defended well, it was just errors. We just need to hang on to the ball.
“Hopefully we can fix that up for next week. We need to.” In round 14 the Bundanoon Highlanders will take Oran Park/Gregory Hills at Bundanoon Oval at 3pm on Saturday, July 21.
Meanwhile the next game for the Bowral Blues will be against the City Kangaroos at Loseby Park 3pm on Saturday, July 28.
