Moss Vale had a 12-8 win over the Picton Magpies at Victoria Park on Saturday, July 8.
Moss Vale persisted through 11 rounds of the ladies league tag tiered competition, to secure the win in round 12.
Ladies league tag captain Bre Lawrence said the team was thrilled to get the win.
“We’ve trained hard and worked hard for this,” Lawrence said.
“It felt like we were in a grand final or the World Cup.
“It upped everyone’s spirits.”
Ladies league tag co-coach Aiden Menzies said the team was improving every week.
“They went well. It’s their first win for the season,” Menzies said.
“They’ve all got the talent, they just had to play as a team.”
It felt like we were in a grand final... It upped everyone’s spirits.

Menzies said Keira Rundback, Nici Ferreira and Simone Inwood stood out on the field for the consistent performances. Amber Middleton also stood out for a confident performance.
Lawrence said the win was made possibly by her coaches.
“A big thank you to our coaches Dylan Readman, Aiden Menzies and John McDonell.”
Moss Vale will take on Oran Park Gregory Hills in round 13 of the competition at Community Oval in Moss Vale from 9am on Sunday, July 15.
Lawrence said the team has gained confidence from the win. “We’re cautiously optimistic we’ll get a win,” Lawrence said.
“Everyone should definitely come down [on the weekend]. It’ll be a good game.”
Menzies said it was anyone’s game this weekend.
“[Oran Park Gregory Hills] is at the top of the table. Any team is beatable, you just have to come prepared,” he said.
