Highlands Health Club owner Gennene Turner encourages the community to help her raise money in her third annual fundraiser for the Black Dog Institute.
Groove Away the Blues will be emceed by comedian Anthony Ackroyd and will feature a host of Highlands’ entertainers.
With a wide variety of musical talent set to showcase, there will be non-stop entertainment for the gala fundraiser attendees.
Performers will include Eklypse, Michelle Cashman, Empire Performance Studio, Moss Vale Aerial Skills, Bernie Vantiel, Tahlia Suares, Ralph Graham, Hollie Col and dancers from Highlands Health Club, Flamenco Solymar and more.
Funds raised from the event will assist the Black Dog Institute, a not-for-profit organisation which aims to improve the lives of people affected by mental illnesses.
It is a pioneer in the diagnosis, early intervention, prevention and treatment of mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and is at the forefront of suicide prevention.
Ms Turner said she aimed to raise $30,000 from Groove Away The Blues.
“Black Dog Institute is an organisation very close to my heart,” Ms Turner said.
“I lost my brother 20 years ago to suicide and at the time, there was no real help around.
“I wanted to do something for the organisation while also giving a platform to local performers.”
Groove Away The Blues will be held at Mittagong RSL from 7pm to 11pm on July 28.
Tickets will cost $100 each or a table of 10 can be purchased for $950.
This will include a three-course meal and tray service.

The night will also include a silent auction and lucky door prizes with items to bid on and prizes to be won.
100 per cent of all money raised from this event will be donated to the Black Dog Institute.
