Oscar Goulder, Ben Fudge and Flynn Corby were selected in the 2019 Hockey NSW under-15 squad.
Southern Highlands under-15 boys team manager Ash Goulder said it was a great opportunity for the 14-year-old boys who were chosen by a Hockey NSW selective panel who watched them play.
“There were only 43 people selected out of 400, so that’s great,” Goulder said.
“The boys will be training with Hockey NSW and will compete in the state championships.”
The Southern Highlands under-15 team played at the state championships in Parkes on June 23 where they finished runner ups in division three.

This is the third year in row the team finished in second place and Goulder said it was due to the player’s ability to work together and their strong vibe power.
Their opposition, Goulburn, took home the winning title for the third year in a row.
Goulder credited this to the players being older and bigger than the Highlands team.
The umpire awarded Ben Fudge the player of the tournament title for playing with his heart.
Hockey player Oscar Goulder said he was excited to have been selected for the experience.
“Only three of us were selected and it’s pretty rare,” Goulder said.
“I’m happy to have earned the title and am looking forward to playing in Perth.”
Goulder said he wanted to use this opportunity to improve his field skills including passing and hitting the ball.
“However, my challenge is I need to look up from the ball more to see what the other players are doing,” Goulder said.
