There were 31 riders competing, who turned out in teams of three and four for the four-hour relay style event.
Riders took turns to complete the four kilometre as fast as they could before swapping with their team mate, and this process continued for the four hours of racing.
Chev MTB coordinator Cameron Cowen said the WSMTB club ran a faultless competition once again this year.
“Their organisation and professionalism allows this event to run smoothly and safely. To Ray and his team at WSMTB club, thank you,” he said.
The conditions could not have been better for mountain bike racing, as cool and dry weather made for some fast laps.
Harrison Johnston, Holly Boyle and Cameron Butcher all secured Jet Black Mountain Bike Products for posting the fastest laps in their categories.
As a school we managed some fantastic results, especially as many of our teams raced with only three riders which made for an exhausting four hours of racing.
In the junior male category the school’s riders secured first place including Harrison Johnston, Darcey Wooderson and Jack Harris.
In the junior mixed the school’s riders secured third place. This included Dalia Caceres, Eloise Sedger, Ethan Lucock and Nelson Rynehart.
In the intermediate mixed category the school secured second and third place.
Riders that finished in second place included Holly Boyle, Cooper Doyle and Xavier Sedger.
Competitors that came in third place included Sarah Pace, Patrick Ryan, Harry Pinczi and Nathan Gray.
In the open male category Cameron Butcher, Harry Denington and Luke Skelly helped secure first place for the school.
With all of these results, the school managed to defend its 2017 title and were named the 2018 NSW All Schools XC MTB champions.
