The under-11s played a great game against the Northern Tigers but lost by only a few points to the Northern Tigers, a team much higher placed on the ladder.
The Hawks took their opportunities this week and kicked the most goals of the season.
Club co-president Matt Griffiths said the Hawks had been missing a lot of goals lately, and it was great to see the team get a reward for effort.
Lachlan Green got the coach’s award after a strong three goal effort.
“Our midfield performed very strong and are showing great improvement week to week,” Griffiths said.
The under-9s played in very difficult conditions against the Northern Tigers, with both team struggling to score in the wind.
The conditions made winning the contested ball an important facet of the game and again this week the Hawks were strong in this part of the game.
Griffiths said there was some excellent teamwork on display when working into the wind and great defence protecting the goals when the opposition were kicking with the wind.
The coach’s award went to Charlie Fitzgerald, who tried hard all day at the back.
The under-13s played the Northern Tigers who proved to be far too good on the day.
The Hawks welcomed a new player this week who helped the side be more competitive.
“The under-13s continue to work hard at training and are improving their skills each week,” Griffiths said.
“No doubt a win is just around the corner if the Hawks keep trying their hardest each week.”
The coach’s award went to Kate Darch who battled hard in the ruck all day.
