Wild Food Adventures will present a feast unlike any other on June 23.
After the success of their first seasonal feast celebrating the wine harvest, a Winter Solstice Celebration, Feast of the Beast, will hit the Highlands.
Harvest Feast host Amanda said the aim of the event was to showcase the best of the Highlands life.
“Southern Highlands life is all about moving in harmony with the seasons, so we have created the Highland Harvest Feast Series to celebrate the Earth’s cycle,” Amanda said.
“Our feast events are authentic adventures that connect you with nature and as self-confessed contemporary country dwellers, we bring to life seasonal customs.
“So, expect some storytelling, music and a focus on the growing cycle in our menus – this means we can introduce a twist on past-Pagan, Saxon, Nordic and Celtic banquets to craft events that celebrate Highland life.”
The menu will include whole roasted meats, baked root vegetables and accompaniments as well as dessert from the food stations.
Vegetarian options will also be available.
Amanda said no feast would be complete without some live entertainment.
“A singer, guitarist, a harpist and a mean fiddler will serenade the crowd,” she said.
“A poet will then cut through the night air with stories of olde and of feasting past.”
Prizes will be given for the best Pagan or Game of Thrones/vikings inspired costumes.
The Feast of the Beast Winter Solstice Dinner will be held on Saturday, June 23 from 4.30pm to 10pm.
It will be located at Meryla State Forest in Werai.
A map of the exact location will be sent out before the event.
An adult general admission ticket will cost $95 and will include food, wine and entertainment.
Entry will include three beverages per person with Highlands wine as well as beer, cider and soft drinks on offer.
Additional drinks can be purchased.
A child ticket will cost $45.
There are only around 40 tickets left.
As this is an outdoor dining experience, event organisers have advised visitors to wear enclosed footwear and bring a warm coat.
